Luke 11:29-36

In response to the accusations and unbelief of his listeners, Jesus turns to them and says, “You are an evil generation!” He compared their unrepentant hearts to the pagans of Nineveh, who repented when Jonah warned them of God’s impending wrath. He compared their response to his heavenly wisdom and power to the Queen of Sheba who traveled thousands of miles to hear the wisdom of Solomon for herself. But what do the Ninevites and Jonah or the Queen of the South and Solomon have to do with Jesus and his crowd? Jesus is clear: someone greater than Jonah is here.
Someone greater than Solomon is here.
