Luke 14:1-14

Gospel Shaped Hospitality moves us:

From Hypocrisy to Healing (verses 1-6)
Throughout Jesus’ ministry and the Gospel of Luke, we constantly see this conflict between Jesus and religious people, a conflict between Hypocrisy and Healing.

From Honor to Humility (verses 7-11)
We either start with humility and then God raises us up, or we start with pride and God knocks us down. Only two ways to live your life.

From Hatred to Hospitality (verses 12-14)
Jesus moved from healing a man to teaching humility, and now directs us to a life of hospitality, including others such as people with disabilities, Gentiles, poor & the outcast.

Jesus Himself is the master of the feast, the true and better host who has invited us, called us, suffered for and served us, healed, restored and remade us, set us free, died in our place, and covered up our shame.
