Climbing into the car on a Sunday morning, I bent down to buckle Zeke’s seat belt and was asked a startling question from his brother: “Dad- do we HAVE to go to church?”
Being honest, I had to immediately choke down a “Yes! Because I said so!” (Sunday mornings are rough for everyone, right?)
Jesus meets us in our sin. He does not require the alcoholic to be without alcohol for 12 weeks before He will save them. He did not wait till Paul had repented of murdering Christians to met him. He stopped Paul in his tracks, then Paul repented.
God does not require us to muster up the bravery to do what He calls us to, He will meet us when we are like Jonah and have run in the opposite direction.
